Damaris Mayne - Jewellery Making
Jewellery Artist Damaris Mayne was born in St. Andrew, Jamaica to a Jamaican father and a Canadian mother. An artistic child Damaris went on to study Art at the Edna Manley School for the Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica.
To further improve her jewellery skills she worked at L.A Henriques and Sons Ltd and Swiss Stores Jamaica Ltd, where she became head of the jewellery workshop. A passion for gemstones led her to enrol at the Gemmological Institute of America to study gemmology and business.
In 2007 she was shortlisted for a commonwealth award for Arts and Craft. An advocate for the Arts, Damaris is a member of the Jamaica Guild of Artists and the Visual and Performing Arts Jamaica.
Damaris has now added the skill of art auctioneer to her portfolio.
