Rachel Wade - Drawing & Painting

Rachel Wade was born in Jamaica and started illustrating and painting at an early age. Having dual citizenship she moved to England to further her studies.

She completed a first class honours B.A. Degree in Animation at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, Surrey England in 2004 and returned to Jamaica to pursue her career as an illustrator, graphic designer , animator and painter.

Rachel’s work ranges from pen illustrations to acrylic on canvas, She has exhibited in various
exhibitions across the Caribbean and Jamaica, and was awarded a gold medal and merit in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Exhibition in 2006.In 2007 she was awarded a merit in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Exhibition and National Gallery Bi Annual Exhibition and was awarded 1st place in the CPTC Digital Arts festival for her piece, "Imagination”.

She is part of the creative team at Sutherland Wade Associates a corporate Graphic Design company. Rachel is a freelance illustrator and Lectures part time at the Edna Manley College of the Visual Arts. She offers art tutorials and Illustrates for the Ministry of Education. Her studio and gallery is located in the hills of St. Andrew and can be viewed by appointment.
